“Can I pat your dog?” is a picture book that teaches children the bare bones
of safe behaviours around dogs. It follows Linda, a little girl who approaches dogs in ways that often get her into trouble. She decides to do things differently, and discovers what to do so that dogs love her, too.
Children naturally exhibit certain characteristics and behaviours that may invite a dog to respond in a way that can endanger the child. Linda’s adventures help children to stay safe around dogs, and remind their parents of the important role they play in this.
The book is suitable to be read to preschoolers and by primary school children.
It simultaneously offers a guide to adults on how to model appropriate behaviours to their child.
Each page is illustrated with charming hand drawn scenes.

"The book is very sweet and sends a good message to kids about safe dog etiquette.
My daughter (7 years old) enjoys it, it makes her laugh and she has been attempting to read it herself."
